Mary offers both Usui Reiki and Karuna Reiki® certification classes.  

Usui Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese holistic healing technique that was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s. It is the original form of Reiki, and is the healing modality that people refer to when they use the term "Reiki". Reiki is defined as “spiritually guided life force energy”. Reiki is a very simple yet powerful technique that can be learned by anyone, but can only be channeled by someone who has been attuned to it. Reiki is in that it is the only hands on healing technique that can be used equally for healing others as well as for self healing. Reiki is a gentle and effective technique used for stress reduction and relaxation, and promotes deep healing at all levels.  

Karuna Reiki® adds to the energy of Usui Reiki, providing the practitioner with more vibrational frequencies for more specific healing applications. Karuna Reiki® is a manifestation of the evolving nature of Reiki, and was developed, over time, into a complete energy healing system, by the International Center for Reiki Training. Karuna Reiki® is a very loving, but powerful vibrational frequency that is the expression of Universal Compassion in action. It harmoniously adds to and blends  with the loving vibration of Usui Reiki to bring about deep, transformative healing. It goes very deep, allowing major healing issues to be acknowledged, processed and healed very quickly, because the issues are acted upon in their basic energetic form.

Reiki Certification Classes:

Usui Reiki Level I 
(one day class- 6 hours)

This level is a permanent attunement to Reiki healing. Once you are attuned to Usui Reiki Level I, you can channel Reiki energy for healing yourself and others. The first degree is the foundation of all three degrees, but is complete in itself and one never needs further training in order to use it to its fullest extent.  

Prerequisite: participants must have received at least one full (one-hour) Reiki session prior to registering for this class. Please check the class schedule and email Mary to register for this class or to schedule a Reiki session. click here to email Mary. 

This level requires further initiation for attunement to the symbols utilized in Level II. The student is trained to use appropriate Second Degree symbols which provide an increase in power for use in a more professional practice of these skills.  

Prerequisite: Reiki Level I and at least one month of consistent practice. Please check the class schedule and email Mary to apply for this class. 

Class fee- $200

Prerequisite: Reiki Level II and at least 6 months of practice since your Level II training. In addition, you should have completed (and documented) a minimum of 25 full Reiki sessions since your Level II training. This training is by application only; please email Mary  to register for this training. 

Class fees- 

Reiki Master Practitioner (1 day-5 hours)- $300

Reiki Master Teacher (2 days-10 hours)- $500 

Karuna Reiki® Master Practitioner Level I & II 

Karuna Reiki® builds on the Usui Reiki Master Level energy, and gives the Reiki practitioner more healing tools to work with. This is a two day class, and you must register for both classes in order to take this training. There are 4 symbols and mantras that are taught in Karuna Reiki® Practitioner Level One, and 4 additional symbols taught in Level Two. Each is a unique vibration that activates certain frequencies of energy for specific healing needs. Additionally, these frequencies can be used interchangeably with the energies of the Usui Reiki Symbols. This class is taught in accordance with the standards of the International Center for Reiki Training. Upon successful completion of this class, you will be registered as a Karuna Reiki ® Practitioner with the International Center for Reiki Training.  

Class fees- (note: you must register for both classes in order to take this training)

Karuna Reiki ® Practitioner Level I- $175

Karuna Reiki ® Practitioner Level II- $175 

Prerequisite: ART (Advanced Reiki Training), Usui Reiki Master Practitioner, or Usui Reiki Teacher certification and at least six months of practice since your certification. Please check the class schedule and email Mary to register for this class. 

Karuna Reiki® Master Teacher Level I & II 
(one day class- 5 hours)

The class includes a review of the 8 practitioner level symbols and more practice with chanting and toning. Also included are the 3 new Master symbols and instruction and practice in giving all Karuna Reiki® attunements. Upon completion of the class, you will be registered as Karuna Reiki® Master with the International Center for Reiki Training, which will allow you to teach according to the center's standards, and your students will receive their diplomas and registration through the center as well.  

Class fee- 

Karuna Reiki ® Master Teacher- $300 

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Karuna Reiki ® Practitioner Class Levels I & II. In addition, you must have had sufficient practice teaching and attuning others to Usui Reiki (at least to Level I). Please check the class schedule and email Mary to register for this class. 

Reiki Workshops:  

Using Reiki with Children

In this workshop, you will learn specific tools for successfully using Reiki with children. Reiki can successfully address common childhood problems, such as temper tantrums, fears, sleep problems, learning problems, sibling rivalry, coping with change, illnesses/ injuries, feeding problems, separation anxiety, etc. Reiki is a powerful, yet gentle and nurturing technique that is especially well-suited for use on children, including children with special needs. If you have been trained in Reiki and would like to begin using Reiki on your own children or the children you work with, this workshop will help you gain skills and competence in working with this special population. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. You will receive a workbook and certificate of completion at the end of this class.

Note: We will not be working on children directly during this workshop, so please do not bring children to the class.

Chakra Balancing 

In this workshop, you will learn specific tools for incorporating chakra balancing into your Reiki practice. In this workshop, we will focus on the seven major chakras, which are the energy centers of the body. Incorporating chakra balancing into your Reiki sessions can enhance the positive effects of Reiki and your clients will benefit greatly. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers. You will receive a workbook and certificate of completion at the end of this class.
